If you lookup AE jeans on Google it says on the item brief in the shopping portion that the item, directly from AE has "Lifetime returns" which sounds great, right? Nope. The only way you can return is if you sign up for their member rewards, haven't worn the jeans at all, ALL tags are intact and attached and even tho you signed up for member rewards, must have the original receipt...and on top of all that, it's only 30 days, not lifetime as their google listings that link directly to ae.com indicates. Serously? So it's lifetime...er no...30 days as long as they are brand new, and god forbid a tag fall off trying them on or you find a defect on the 3rd wear, for example... Nope. SOL.
Also was in store in the chapel hills mall and the employees were totally clueless about even what the difference in fit between slim and athletic or what airflex is vs airflex 360 for example or where straight jeans were located in store. The one guy said they didn't sell original straight that he was aware of, yet I soon found an entire rack of them literally behind where he was blocking.

Kaylee & Sarah were amazing!! They were the only two employees on an oddly very busy Tuesday afternoon. I had an exchange to make on a pair of jeans and the size I needed was showing in stock - Sarah went on a HUNT for me and was able to find the exact jeans I needed while Kaylee handled the checkout line with grace & patience. I really appreciated their efforts versus having to wait for an online exchange!

They had pants that fit! I am short, and I got curvy legs. They had some flair pants and some boot cut which fit well. The pants are stretchy and flatter my legs and hips. They feel comfortable to wear. They also had some good discounts online. I'm excited to receive my order!

My mom found pants, too. She liked (I'm not making this up) the Mom Jean cut. Those ones are high waisted. They have plenty of room in the legs and taper in at the waist. They are also stretchy. My mom didn't want to take the jeans off. They were very comfy and didn't constrict her curvy legs at all.

Awful customer service!
Store was quiet, I was in the store with my son and daughter for over 20 minutes. 2 sales associates at the store and we were not acknowledged. When I tried to make contact with the associates, they kind a rolled their eyes.

When we were ready to pay, one of the cashiers was assisting another customer, we patiently waited for several minutes, I had to ask the other cashier that was playing on her phone if the register at the other side of the counter was open, cashier said the other associate will help us and went back to her phone. We left the store after that.

Maybe one other customer in the store. I was having trouble finding something, I was doing some Christmas shopping for a sibling, it was really frustrating to see so many employees just standing, watching me. I don’t know if they were sizing me up, profiling me because I looked a little messy because I just left work or what, but what a joke. The young man at the register was also extremely cold and almost seemed upset at me when I didn’t want to sign up for rewards.

everytime I come I never get greeted or asked if I need help. othe people who are white get helped and greeted right away. poor customer service. i stop3d spending my money here

I frequent this store and one of the most aggravating things is their door practices. They have employees parked at the door who will not let you into the store until you tell them what you're at the store for. Seriously? That's rude, unprofessional and a terrible business practice. What do you think I want? I obviously am not here for milk and eggs, I'm here to buy stuff. Not sure if this annoyance is a corporate practice, but I will be contacting corporate and filing a complaint. Do not impede people's way if you want customers to give you business.
