I grew up in New Bedford, MA, so it was really exciting to find a seafood restaurant in Colorado that is not only owned by someone from Mass but gets their seafood imported from New England. I haven't been back home in almost 10 years, and this was the best seafood I've had since! It's hard to find haddock (the best fish) in general, but all the seafood here tasted so fresh despite being nowhere near the ocean. All the meat had its own flavor that you just don't get from local grocery store seafood, and the lobster roll was hefty on the meat and did not disappoint! It's quite pricey compared to back home, but considering the food is imported, I think the prices were fair. It's still cheaper than bland Red Lobster food ?
Even the atmosphere was very much like restaurants back home, so it was really cool to see that out here in Colorado! I would definitely recommend the clam chowder, clam cakes, and fried haddock!

Took the family in to the new Lobstah Trap. I just got back from Boston and figured I would show the kids the type of food I ate while I was on the East Coast. Pretty good variety. Enjoyed the meal. Kids liked the Lobster Mac and cheese the best. The seafood tots were a big hit as well. The lobster grilled cheese was the second favorite. I will go back.

I have seen this place a few times and finally decided to try it. Let me tell you, this place is AWESOME!! Homemade chips were a nice touch, the seafood tots were way better than I imagined and will be ordering them everytime now. I got the popular Connecticut lobster roll and was very impressed! It had amazing flavor but not so much as to over power the taste of the lobster at all! Seriously the best lobster roll I have ever had and super fresh! My friends got the other lobster roll that comes warm with butter (didn't get a picture) but they loved it! Definitely going back and stopping everytime I see there food truck for a snack!! 10/10 must try!!!

Growing up on the East Coast near Jersey, seafood was fresh and gritty. That’s how you know it’s real seafood, the fresh caught lobsters or crabs had a good sea/sand taste to them. The Lobstah Trap did not disappoint, it should be the number one seafood restaurant in Colorado Springs not Bonefish Grill who have no idea what seafood really is. Feelings aside, give it a try it’s amazing! The lobster Rolls and Mac n cheese are to good to pass up!

Growing up near the sea coast in New England, I would wait impatiently for the summer to come and with it the opening up of the seasonal clam shacks. These small restaurants were usually only a tiny building with a kitchen and a few employees. You parked your car or walked up from the beach, went up to a window, ordered your clam roll then waited until your name was called to pick up your freshly fried whole belly clams. You could sit at picnic tables outside and enjoy the sea breeze or just sit along the rocky shore.
When I walked into Chef Bob’s Lobstah Trap for the first time I was immediately swept back to those balmy summer days. The interior is decorated to bring to mind the outside of a clam shack, including the picnic tables that are actually quite comfy. At the window you will find a dry erase board telling you where the fresh, not frozen, seafood was flown in from. You can get some Maine or Canadian lobster, tender and sweet. Get a traditional lobster roll, delicately seasoned and stuffed to overflowing in a buttery split top hot dog bun. Or try some clams from Essex, home of the original fried clam. Though the clams from the Ipswich river, a little ways up the road, are just as tasty. Try them steamed or get some whole belly clams fried to perfection with a light crunchy coating.
Speaking of fried to perfection, I judge a seafood place by how well they can cook scallops. When I tried Chef Bob’s fried scallops I knew I was in good hands. The outside was crisp while the scallop was cooked through, without being over done, and melted in my mouth like butter. If you’ve never had a correctly fried scallop, I would suggest going to The Lobstah Trap just for that experience alone. They can be found in the pile of food on the Fisherman’s combo. A dish that can easily be shared with a friend. Or you can keep it all for yourself and try to pretend you’re not enjoying every morsel.
The sides at The Lobstah Trap are worth swooning over, as well. House made chips that should be sold by the bag. Coleslaw that is light on the mayo and heavy on the crunch and flavor. Even the tartar sauce is full of complex flavor that adds to the delicate flavor of the seafood, instead of just being a gloppy condiment.
If you want to drag along your seafood adverse friends, fear not. The mac n cheese is homemade and the chicken is treated with the same care as the fresh seafood.
Unlike the seasonal clam shacks in New England, Chef Bob’s Lobstah Trap can be enjoyed all year long. You can also follow his food truck around for your lobster roll fix.
Oh, and if the recipe for his tartar sauce goes missing, I swear it wasn’t me.

As a big fan of the food truck, I had been really looking forward to finally going to this location, and I was not disappointed. The Lobster Roll was perfect (like always), the fried Whole Belly Clams were absolutely amazing, and the Mac and Cheese was just phenomenal. Wonderful beer selection, and the whole staff was very nice and helpful. There was a huge line when we arrived, but they tore through it faster than I expected. Food came out very quickly, and there was no quality issues.

Ignore all the 1 star haters, if you look at their profile, they only come here to complain. This place is legit, and very quickly worked out any Grand Opening issues.

I love Lobster and a big fan of seafood, but i didn't know what to expect when I ordered the lobster roll since I've never had one. The price was a little pricey for the serving size. The fries were amazing however I can't say I felt the same way about the lobster roll. It was very Bland and the lobster itself was very chewy and cold. Customer service was not the greatest when I explained to the lady we've never been here and she pointed and said here's the menu?‍♀️ the food looked really good, but I didn't have the same excitement after the first bite.

This place has excellent food and I love the setup inside the restaurant!

I had the lobster roll (cold) and upgraded to onion rings to go. The sandwich was amazing with a lot of flavor and I loved the lobster. There was a TON of meat on it as well. The cold roll had a sauce on it, which was very tasty. It looked like the warm one didn't have that, bit was served with butter-a more classic version of the lobster roll.

The onion rings were excellent as well! They were cooked the perfect amount at crispiness.

The person taking the order was very friendly and helpful. I had never been there before and he helped me navigate the menu.

I definitely plan on eating here again!
