I contacted Senior Justice because I thought I needed help. I entrusted my mom to a nursing home to care for her in what I knew was the last year of her life.

Nursing homes are not hotels, I knew that, but I wanted and expected her to be comfortable. That was all. As a son, you get the feeling when the nursing home personnel are operating outside the boundaries of what would be considered normal and expected care. I suspected that was the case.

And I wanted someone to go to bat for me to prove it. Senior Justice did just that. They investigated thoroughly and built a case of neglect and abuse. The lawsuit charged wrongful death and my lawyer skillfully constructed a timeline of events that the insurance company for the nursing home decided they wanted to settle rather quickly.

It happened a lot faster than I thought it would. Dylan Hanson and team know their business. Like me, they knew there was an injustice and did what they do - hold them accountable. And make the nursing home pay for their inattention and unprofessional approach to their job.

It doesn't make up for what happened and I sincerely hope that nursing home will reorganize and put in place a better system of oversight on their employees.
